During a recent interview with one of the radio station in the Haitian Capital, Port au Prince, the star of Brother’s Posse, Antonio Cheramy commonly known as Don Kato, affirmed to have been threaten by some unknown individuals via text messages for his carnival song which is titled  “Yon Prezidan kap fe’ stayle.”  According to Don Kato, the culprits attached the picture of President Michel Martelly to the text messages.   He also added that several gun shots were fired in his neighborhood during the night of February 12, 2012. His vehicle was vandalized and a dog was killed during the incident.  Don Kato, however, fell short of making the connection with President Martelly, but he urged the Haitian police to investigate the matter.

It’s unfortunate that artists, creators, students, clergy members, profefessionals, and other members of the Haitian society have to be subject to insucurity as it seems to be the case for Don Kato. However, the tag for this article lacks of objectivity as it suggests that the artist was targeted for his carnival. At this point, we cannot confirm such assumption. Even Don Kato himself is not sure about who’s behind the attack according to an article from Le Nouvelliste. The artist is reported to have said that the incident might be the act of criminals who are just looking to steal. No investigation is currently conducted. Bottom line, no one knows.
